Point taken Cali~ just needed to say that she wasn’t astray all day long. This happened in a very short period of time from the point the kids were let out of school. @ Gemma~ what I read was that police pic on Grande & E Tabor was taken minutes before she was last seen at 4 something pm. I’m thinking the bus dropped her off somewhere around that location? I’m glad he made lots of incriminating mistakes that led to his abrupt capture. We no longer have to worry about him roaming the streets. Hopefully Genelle can rest in peace now.

@Cali-I was under the same impression as you-that she did not make it to school. We must have read the same article that stated-”She was last seen on her way to school,at the intersection of Grande and E Tabor. She was reported missing when she did not return home after school.”
I haven’t found an article that clearly states she attended school the day she was last seen. It does not make a difference,but clarification is nice.

Paul, I so agree. We have to do better as a society. We have to pay attention and take back our streets and communities, one by one. When something looks out of place, we should take that time to turn back around and look again. Report it. We are all so busy with minding our own business that we tend to overlook what we once didn’t stand for. Our children need protecting. We need tolerance and not go on the “attack”. I like your statement..”we all have to do better”. That starts with all of us to lend a hand, perhaps even correct people if they are off course a bit, give them support. As we all see in all major cities, its not safe to walk the streets. We need to take our streets back. We need to promote good things in society and jobs. Our country needs jobs….

Long ago, Fairfield was a sleepy little town that I truly enjoyed. So much so, that I am/was planning a move back to my “hang out” place. Times have changed , as they have everywhere. Now I hear of murders, hatred, just everything vile and I think, what the heck happened? I look around and crime is everywhere; believe me, I realize that. There are so many questions beginning with, did the school contact her guardians when she didn’t show up or left school? Why, when this “person” who had suicidal and murderous intentions with his wife, was he not tracked down and checked out mentally? All of this will not bring back this child who should still be attending middle school with her “Hello Kitty” backpack, firmly on her. I understand the police department is overwhelmed with calls of crimes in progress and so on. (By the way, I applaud the FPD for quickly solving this case. And, if he is the right “person”, make sure he never sees the light of day). As a community, we have to do more. More so that children are in school where they are suppose to be, and our eyes and ears are open when we see a child during school hours in an area where they have no business. The suspect had no prior record, but there were warning signs. His wife clearly stated that his intentions were not of a sound mind, so a powder keg exploded and a young child is gone. We all have to look around and actually do better. Yes, I am coming home, but I will be very selective as to where I choose to live. I am taking notes of the areas to avoid, but then again, is there anywhere 100 percent safe these days?

For my family, an extended thank you to all the law enforcement professionals who worked on this terrible event and caught a suspect. To all the freaks in Fairfield; stop and think before you perform such a horrific act on someone-Seek help if your that screwed up. Open a bible, talk to a friend, do something positive rather in this.Lets protect our children, help each other, may God confort Genelle’s soul, family and friends.

The police have made an arrest. Quite often the cops botch investigations. I suspect the evidence against the accused is weak and circumstantial. We will see though. Maybe its airtight. We don’t know yet.

Don’t know where you’ve been getting your information, but you better start paying attention! A lot of the pedophile being arrested for crimes against children AREN’T ex-cons; they are coming from all walks of life, and include so-called “pillars of the community.” Closely follow who the Feds are busting for kiddie porn, etc. They are more likely to be your next door neighbor than some guy off the bus from prison! Any many have NO arrest records! So when it comes to crimes against kids, don’t fall into the trap of stereotyping who they are. THEY COME FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE!

I was afraid this crime was going to turn into another Phoung Le murder that never gets solved. Now I hope the DA does their job if the evidence proves this person is truly the one responsible. Any individual that does such a horrendous crime to a child should be put on the fast track to their death sentence. We need to make examples of these child killers and show them what awaits them if they hurt our children. A death sentence shouldn’t take 20 years to carry out in cases like this. As for our parks..I agree with Councilmember Moy, we need to give our parks more attention. Our parks use to be one of the most appealing things our City had to offer..but they have really gone downhill over the last few years. This crime wouldn’t have been prevented if Allan Witt had better security cameras or if it were in better condition..But Allan Witt’s condition shouldn’t be a attractant for dumping murder victims or other crimes to be carried out. We need to fix our parks up. Good job to Councilwoman Moy for recognizing this.

There are kids all over town at all hours of the evening/early mornings. They are riding bicycles, skateboards, smoking (weed too), and just hanging out. There is a lot of activity in Fairfield during these hours and many folks wandering around that are at best suspect. That is not a good mix and I for one would love to see the curfew enforced. We cannot possibly save everyone but parents and concerned citizens could most certainly report any incidents that involve minors while they are not where they are supposed to be.

Yep I share your outrage..I am sure by reading the article this POS has hurt women and children before this incident..If he is out on parole it will come out..There is nothing we can do to prevent this..Our courts have mandated that we release offenders to reduce overcrowding..You just have to be more prepared to protect yourself..More are coming out every day..

My words are not adequate in thanking the community for supporting Genelles family, friends and all of our children. Fairfield police did exemplary work, as did the other agencies involved in the suspects capture. Justice will prevail. I want to thank Suisun City Mayor Pete Sanchez for showing up at yesterday’s press conference, showing his concern for one of his city’s children.
Now we must all work harder to make Fairfield safer. I grew up in the neighborhood near Allan Witt Park and spent so much time there. It was safe, or so we thought. Deviants have always walked among us. As a parent of a daughter, I ask that other parents teach their children to go outside with a friend. As a council member, I will ask that my colleagues join me in requesting a study of our parks’ lighting, security cameras and other safet measures, such as enforcement of curfews.

While I’m pleased this worthless POS was caught, I feel worse now, than I did before I knew what actually happened to Genelle.This article says they aren’t releasing cause of death,but Suisun Patch did.It breaks my heart and sickens me at the same time to know that the sick,ugly,demented face of the suspect is likely the last thing Genelle saw before she passed.WHY do incidents like this continue to happen? Young girls, with their whole lives ahead of them,murdered by disgusting creatures,years older, who have lived their lives.Was this guy on parole? I really hope he wasn’t,because if he was, that’s going to further enrage me,because people are being released due to overcrowding, BUT THEY HAVEN’T CHANGED! RIP GENELLE.You’re with the angels now.
