VACAVILLE — Police arrested four people in the wee hours Friday after they allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint in the Browns Valley area.
According to a news release from Vacaville police, a resident contacted police around 1 a.m. Friday, stating that he had been the victim of an armed robbery. The release says the victim willingly got into a car with an acquaintance and a female driver.
Police said the victim was taken to the area of Wrentham and Ballandine drives in the Browns Valley subdivision, where police say he was confronted by two people who were apparently acting in conjunction with the two in the vehicle.
The victim told police one person held a gun to his head while another removed valuables from the victim, including cash and jewelry.
Police got a detailed description of the suspect vehicle and the name of the suspect the victim knew.
Shortly after, an officer spotted a vehicle that matched the description on westbound Interstate 80 near Cherry Glen Road, the release states. The officer followed the vehicle west toward Fairfield, while Vacaville dispatchers contacted Fairfield police to ask for assistance.
Several Fairfield units entered the freeway and conducted a high-risk traffic stop at I-80 and Highway 12. The California Highway Patrol also assisted, shutting down the westbound lanes of the freeway until the occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody.
Police said officers recovered evidence of the alleged robbery, including an Airsoft gun, inside the vehicle.
Five occupants of the vehicle were detained and one was later released.
Kimberly Trowbridge, 38, of Benicia, Devyn Coney-Jones, 18, of Benicia, and Montrece Howard, 22, of Vallejo were booked at the county jail. A 17-year-old Benicia resident was booked at juvenile hall.
Police said all were arrested on suspicion of a variety of violations, including armed robbery, possession of stolen property, probation violation and possessing fake identification.
