FAIRFIELD — The two suspects in a shooting earlier this week at the Parkway Gardens condominiums learned Thursday that prosecutors will not be filing attempted murder and related charges against them.
“The case is still pending further investigation,” Chief Deputy District Attorney Terry Ray said.
A man was shot in the chest and shoulder Monday afternoon outside of the swimming pool area at the complex. Within hours Fairfield police arrested Aldrew Jenkins, 25, and Naomi Mooring, 22. They were booked into the jail on suspicion of conspiracy and attempted murder.
Jail officials said Jenkins was released from custody Thursday evening. Before his arrest, Jenkins had been out of jail on $60,000 bail awaiting trial in January on felony domestic violence and assault charges.
Mooring appeared in court Thursday afternoon because she had an outstanding warrant for her arrest in a 2010 misdemeanor case.
