FAIRFIELD — A preliminary hearing will take place next week for two men accused in a May 1 shooting near Laurel Creek Park that left two men seriously injured and sent children who were playing baseball and T-ball at the nearby park running for cover in the dugouts.
Judge Donna Stashyn on Monday ordered Deonta G. King, 28, of Dixon, and Terry R. McClure, 26, of Vacaville, back to court Thursday in preparation for the hearing May 27.
Both men have pleaded not guilty to two counts of attempted murder and various related allegations. They are each being held on $5 million bail.
McClure is also wanted by authorities in South Carolina, where he has been implicated in a late-April homicide and attempted homicide.
