VACAVILLE — A 57-year-old motorcyclist suffered major injuries Tuesday afternoon when he collided with a car at Nut Tree Road, just north of Elmira Road.

The motorcycle was traveling northbound at about 3:45 p.m. on Nut Tree Road when a car, driven by a 76-year-old Vacaville resident, exited a parking lot on the east side of the roadway, into the path of the oncoming motorcyclist, according to a Vacaville Police Department press release.

The motorcyclist tried to brake to avoid the crash, but struck the left side of the car, the release said. The rider was ejected and landed on the roadway. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Police identified the motorcyclist as a Chino resident but didn’t release his name.

Anyone with information, or who may have witnessed the collision, is asked to call Officer James Smith at 449-5200.
