FAIRFIELD — Jury selection is scheduled to get underway Thursday morning in the murder trial for a Suisun City man accused of fatally shooting a friend.
Ryan J. Moore, 32, is accused of killing 41-year-old Bettina Brown on the night of Oct. 23, 2012, at a home on Stellar Way in Suisun City. He has pleaded not guilty.
Moore had been drinking tequila before the shooting and had just broken up with a girlfriend before he threatened to shoot Brown and then made good on his threat, according to testimony at a probable cause hearing.
At previous court hearings, Moore’s defense attorney has argued that Moore was too intoxicated to be responsible for the killing, which may have been a tragic, careless mistake.
