FAIRFIELD — A Fairfield man accused of shooting another man Oct. 5 outside a Suisun City bar was in court briefly Monday, agreeing to postpone his probable cause hearing.
Michael O. Jackson, 29, faces an attempted murder charge and a possible life sentence if he is convicted. Jackson remains locked up at the jail with his bail is set at $750,000. He is set to be back in court Dec. 18 to reschedule the probable cause hearing.
Witnesses told police that Jackson got into a late-night argument with another man before he got into a car and started to drive away and that Jackson stopped his car briefly and fired a single gunshot out the passenger window, striking the victim in the hip.
A search of Jackson’s home on New Jersey Street allegedly turned up the gun used in the shooting, police said.
