FAIRFIELD — A federal grand jury in Sacramento indicted a Vallejo man Thursday, charging him with four counts of receiving and distributing child pornography.

Robert P. McGee, 51, admitted to police that he had child pornography stored on several CDs he kept in a shoebox dating back as far as 2005, according to court records. He faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if he is convicted of all charges.

McGee allegedly used a Facebook account to download at least 25 jpg images of prepubescent girls being sexually assaulted. Facebook reported the activity to authorities.

Investigators checking computer records linked to McGee’s residence believe he sent several child pornography photos to others during the past two years and the recipients responded with appreciative and lewd replies.

McGee is currently locked up and is scheduled to be arraigned July 1.
