FAIRFIELD — A 46-year-old Fairfield woman riding a bicycle was injured Thursday morning when she entered a crosswalk at Pennsylvania Avenue and Texas Street, according to Fairfield police.
The woman was riding east on the south side of Texas Street at 9 a.m. when she entered the crosswalk after the light turned green and the walk signal activated. At that time, a car travelling east on Texas Street came up behind her and turned south onto Pennsylvania Avenue, hitting her and knocking her down.
The woman had minor injuries and was transported to NorthBay Medical Center, where she was treated. The car left the scene of the incident without stopping. The only description police got from witnesses was that it was a white four-door sedan occupied by two teens who yelled at the woman to get out of the way, according to police.
