FAIRFIELD — A brief car chase followed by a foot chase ended with no arrests after police swarmed a Balboa Court trailer park Wednesday afternoon.
A Fairfield police officer spotted a stolen Nissan sedan on West Texas Street shortly after 4 p.m. The driver of the stolen car had no interest in pulling over for a traffic stop. Instead he got on the freeway and led the officer on a brief chase that ended at an Alaska Avenue apartment.
With the stolen Nissan still rolling, the driver jumped from the car as soon as he entered the parking lot. He took off running through the apartment complex and hopped a fence into the trailer park.
More than a dozen police officers with the help of a pair of California Highway Patrol officers circling overhead in an airplane searched the trailer park for the Nissan driver until the search was canceled shortly before 5 p.m.
