By From page A3 | December 27, 2012

FAIRFIELD — Fairfield police will conduct a driving under the influence checkpoint from 7 to 11:30 p.m. Friday.

Police did not say where the checkpoint will be located.

Officers will examine drivers passing through the checkpoint for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment and will check drivers to see if they are licensed.

In the past three years, DUI crashes killed seven people in Fairfield and resulted in 142 injuries, according to Sgt. Matt Bloesch in a press release.
