FAIRFIELD — The mother accused of shooting her son in the back of the head during an altercation made a brief court appearance Thursday for rescheduling a probable cause hearing on three felony charges.
Stephanie Polk, 51, has pleaded not guilty to brandishing and assault with a semiautomatic firearm and grossly negligent discharge of a firearm.
Polk, out of jail on a bail of $275,000, agreed to postpone the hearing that had been set for Dec. 9 until Feb. 10, 2014.
Fairfield police rushed to Polk’s Day Drive home on the afternoon of Nov. 25 after receiving reports of a shooting. Police found Polk’s 18-year-old son had received what was described as a grazing wound. Police said the shooting occurred during a mother-son dispute.
