Crime statistics mapping now available in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD — People can now see where crimes are happening in their area with a new mapping system.

The Fairfield Police Department recently added crime mapping to its website. It allows viewers to select a specific crime and it creates points on the map where that crime was reported. Some of the crimes even have subsets to get more detailed reports.

Users can separate the type of reported crime, and the time and location of each report. There is also a way to search crimes around a designated area.

The tool can be found at www.fairfield.ca.gov/gov/depts/police/logs.asp.
