Air ambulance called off after self-inflicted shooting

VACAVILLE — An air ambulance was called off due to bad weather Friday for the subject of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the Vacaville Police Department.

Police received reports at approximately 3:10 p.m. of a subject with a gunshot wound to the head on Boone Drive. An air ambulance was asked to land at Stonegate Park on nearby Stonegate Drive, but was called off due to poor weather.

The victim was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.
