SUISUN CITY — Police are investigating a shooting early Saturday that left a man shot in the gut.
The shooting was reported at approximately 1:15 a.m. on the 600 block of Main Street. Police arrived there and found a man in the parking lot, being helped by friends and some good Samaritans.
Police were told there was some type of argument between the victim, identified in a press release as a 24-year-old Fairfield man, and another man. The suspect, as he was driving away moments later, shot the Fairfield man in the abdomen, according to police.
The suspect is described as a black man in his late 20s. He was driving a dark, four-door car. The precise color, and make and model were not noted in a press release about the shooting. The suspect is wanted on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
No information was released on the condition of the shooting victim. Police said the victim does not know the man who shot him.
