VACAVILLE — A man was found apparently shot in the head at the basement shooting range of Guns, Fishing & Other Stuff on Wednesday, though police said there were no signs of foul play.

The incident happened at about noon in the building at 197 Butcher Road. Police Lt. Matt Lydon said shortly thereafter that there was no evidence the man had been shot by anyone else, but he made no definitive statement as to what had happened. He said a video from the shooting range could have captured the incident.

Prior to his death, the man had been shooting a handgun at the range, Lydon said. The man appeared to be in his mid-50s, he said.
