County fair opens Wednesday in Vallejo

FAIRFIELD — The Solano County Fair will return from Wednesday through Sunday at the fairgrounds, highlighting this week’s opportunities.

It will be the fourth consecutive year that the annual festival is a five-day event. The theme is Cruisin’ the Country.

The fair will hold two competitions on the stage.

One for talent and dance on Friday and the “Solano Stars! Vocal Competition” Saturday. Both get underway at 5 p.m.

The stage will also be home to a nightly Karaoke Party from 8 to 9:30 p.m.

Headline performances will start each night at 8 p.m. This year’s performers will include: Con Funk Shun on Wednesday; Little Anthony & The Imperials on Thursday; Los Lobos on Friday; The Guess Who on Saturday and Graciela Beltran and Banda La Movida on Sunday.

The fair runs from 3 to 11 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and opens at noon Saturday and Sunday.
