Suisun Valley vintners to host Uncorked

By From page A10 | June 09, 2014

SUISUN VALLEY — Suisun Valley on June 21 will again celebrate its wines with the annual Uncorked event.

Uncorked is an evening of food, wine and music at Il Fiorello Olive Oil Co. It is a fundraiser for the Suisun Valley Vintners and Growers Association.

Seventeen wine brands will be available for drinking. Many are from wineries that don’t have tasting rooms and are hard to find, said Ron Daugherty of Il Fiorello.

Four local chefs will prepare the food. They are Marvin Martin of Il Fiorello, Peter Halikas of Mankas Steakhouse, Lindsey Gilpin of Backdoor Bistro and Salvio De Furia of Salvio at the Rock.

Local band Rhythm Method will provide the music. The event includes a silent auction that will include items donated by local vintners.

Almost 200 people attended last year’s Uncorked event, which also took place at Il Fiorello Olive Oil Co. This year, organizers are hoping to sell 250 tickets.

Please go to www.SuisunValley.com to buy tickets. Tickets can also be bought at Il Fiorello Olive Oil Co., 2625 Mankas Corner Road, and Wooden Valley Winery, 4756 Suisun Valley Road.

Great event! I regret having to miss this year due to vacation, but that makes room for a newcomer;-).
