FAIRFIELD — Solano County claims five of California’s top 500 sales and use tax delinquencies based on a list released Wednesday by the state Board of Equalization.
They owe a combined $5.67 million of the more that $525 million owed by those on the list.
Two entries are next to one another at more than $1.86 million each and represent the majority of the Solano total. The amounts owned are within pennies of one another, with Vacaville Ford Mercury Inc. owing 6 cents more than Bryan Keith White, according to the published list.
Both entries list the same address on Peabody Road.
A business called Cigarettes Cheaper on Industrial Way in Benicia owes nearly $816,500 in back taxes.
A company called VJR Ventures Inc., doing business as N&M Markets, lists an address on Lincoln Road West in Vallejo and owes more than $584,000. Ivninder Singh Sidhu, who lists the same address on Lincoln Road West in Vallejo, owes more than $553,500.
The list is updated quarterly. The state notifies those on the list 30 days before each quarter’s list of posted. Some on the list are jointly held liabilities, according to a Board of Equalization press release.
Amounts that are being addressed through payment plans, bankruptcy, litigation or appeal are not listed, according to the release.
