Restaurant week coming in Suisun, Vacaville

By From page A10 | January 13, 2014

SUISUN CITY — A number of Vacaville and downtown Suisun City restaurants will be offering dining deals from Friday through Jan. 26.

Restaurants participating in the two “Restaurant Week” promotions will offer menu items with special prices, in addition to their regular offerings at regular prices. Patrons need no tickets or coupons to take advantage of the special price offerings.

For example, patrons of Babs Delta Diner in Suisun City can choose among several breakfast and lunch offerings. The special-price lunch offerings are Philly cheese steak, Reuben on rye or breaded pork tenderloin, each served with french fries.

January and February are slow months, Babs Delta Diner manager Timothy Na said. Restaurant Week provides a little boost and that helps, he said.

Other restaurants will have special-price offerings such as three-course dinners.

Participating restaurants in Suisun City are Athenian Grill, Babs Delta Diner, Cast Iron Grill & Bar, Dawgs at the Depot, It’s It, K Thai Palace, La Cabaña, Main Street Bar and Grill, Pane e Viño, Puerto Vallarta and Subway. Go to www.suisunwaterfront.com for more information, including the menus of the items offered at special prices.

Participating restaurants in Vacaville are Amici’s, Backdoor Bistro, The Bistro at Courtyard by Marriott, Buffalo Wild Wings, China House, City Sports Bar & Grill, Fuso, Merchant and Main and Mary’s Pizza Shack, according to Visit Vacaville. Go to www.visitvacaville.com for more information.

Suisun City and Vacaville aren’t the only cities to offer Restaurant Week deals in January. San Diego, Calaveras, Escondido, Santa Monica and Sacramento are among other cities that have similar promotions, though at different times during the month.

It’s all part of California Restaurant Month, a celebration promoted by Visit California, formerly known as the California Travel & Tourism Commission. The local promotions are among those mentioned at www.visitcalifornia.com, the Visit California website.

“Any additional promotions we can get on this and letting people know what’s happening in Vacaville, the dining scene in Vacaville, is always a positive,” said Melyssa Laughlin, executive director of Visit Vacaville.
