FAIRFIELD — Local employers can participate in a program to offset the cost of giving work experience to Solano County residents receiving public assistance.
The Short-Term Employment Program runs through June 2014. It encourages private, public and nonprofit employers to hire people on public assistance by offering reimbursement for wages and a portion of the employer’s paid taxes, a Solano County press release said.
