Kaiser’s Vacaville hospital wins honor

VACAVILLE — Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center is one of 10 Kaiser hospitals in Northern California named among the 2013 Leapfrog Top Hospitals.

The Leapfrog Group chose 90 hospitals for the list from 1,324 hospitals nationwide that voluntarily participate in its hospital survey. The Leapfrog Group is a coalition of public and private purchasers of employee health care coverage. It was founded in 1998 and works for improvements in health care safety, quality and affordability.

Other Kaiser Permanente hospitals in Northern California to win the honor are in Antioch, Fresno, Oakland, Richmond, Roseville, San Jose, Santa Clara, South San Francisco and Walnut Creek. In addition, nine Kaiser Permanente hospitals in Southern California made the list.
