VACAVILLE — Harry and Rachael Sellers decided the time is right to open their own flooring shop. The shop is called Harry’s Carpets. It sells carpets, but also laminates, tiles, hardwoods.
“If it goes on the floor, we do it,” Harry Sellers said.
Harry Sellers has been in the local flooring business for 20 years installing and selling. His father owns a flooring store in Burlingame.
“I’ve been a carpet layer since I was a little kid,” Harry Sellers said.
For a period of time, people weren’t fixing their homes, Rachael Sellers said. They didn’t want to invest in properties with declining values. That economic downturn hurt the Sellers, too. As work got harder to find in the floor installation business, it spurred them to open their own shop.
“It was really a good thing for us,” Rachael Sellers said. “I don’t know if we would have done it otherwise.”
Now the economy has started going again, Rachael Sellers said.
“I’ve been talking about opening up a shop for years and years and years,” Harry Sellers said.
He wanted to open one in Vacaville.
“Vacaville, I’ve lived here since I was 13 years old,” Harry Sellers said. “I love Vacaville.”
The new flooring shop is located at 42 Union Way, Unit C. Harry’s Carpets is offering free estimates provided by licensed professionals on all goods and services. Call 450-5956 for more information, a company press release said.
