FAIRFIELD — Several businesses have expressed interest in moving into the newly rebuilt Empire Professional Building located at 744 Empire St.
The building was destroyed after a January 2012 five-alarm blaze reduced it to a pile of rubble. The only distinguishable features left were the exterior walls.
“Businesses (moving into the building) will like that each suite will have its own restrooms, break room and kitchen area,” said Chris Wallace of Premiere Commercial, which is facilitating the process of bringing tenants back to the building. “Before, businesses had to use common areas for these.”
Wallace said completion of the building will occur in January.
Citing current contract negotiations, Wallace could not confirm if former businesses will return to the building. However, he did say that several former tenants have “expressed interest” in returning to the building.
Space is still available.
Those interested in being a tenant in the building can call Wallace with Premiere Commercial at 436-7300.
