Donnelly Floral earns nod as Rio Vista chamber’s New Business of Year

By From page B4 | February 26, 2013

RIO VISTA — Rio Vista saw a slew of new businesses recently, so it came as a surprise to Sarah Donnelly that her business – Donnelly Floral and Event Design – won the Chamber of Commerce’s New Business of the Year award.

“I was very surprised,” she said of her win. “There are several new businesses in Rio Vista — Brand You, Robin’s Nest, Bellisima — all are assets to our community and just as deserving.”

Donnelly and her husband, who is from Rio Vista, moved back to the area about 21 years ago. They raised three children in Rio Vista and now they have an “empty nest.”

Donnelly opened her floral business along Front Street in October 2011 with a fundraiser to support Rio Vista’s sixth-grade science camp.

“It was so successful, they were able to send every student,” she said.

Donnelly’s business offers full floral services — from birthdays to funerals — and delivers throughout the Delta. The business specializes in designs for weddings, fundraisers and other events.

Though Donnelly was proud of her win, she was also very humbled. Her husband prompted her to explain why she thought she won.

“We work with each of our customers to be sure the flowers they send or order for themselves meet their vision. We love special orders and work very hard to fill them with the freshest product available,” she said. “We deliver on time and we love flowers and floral design.”

Donnelly said she was mostly honored that her business was recognized for its contribution to the community.

“I am very flattered by the aspect of the award that recognizes ‘outstanding involvement and dedication to the betterment of our community,’ ” she said.

I do trust all of the concepts you have introduced in your post. They're very convincing and can certainly work. Still, the posts are too short for starters. May you please lengthen them a little from subsequent time? Thanks for the post.
