FAIRFIELD — People can donate items to help homeless schoolchildren at Travis Credit Union branches through July 29.

The Stuff the Bus campaign is seeking a long list of items. Among them are alarm clocks, binders, crayons, paper, highlighters, backpacks that aren’t solid blue or red, calculators, erasers, lunch bags, pencils, flash cards, pencil pouches, glue sticks, rulers and pencil sharpeners.

Solano County has more than 1,400 homeless students, said Patsy Van Ouwerkerk, CEO of Travis Credit Union, in a press release.

“Due to the loss of housing and financial problems, these young people may be living on the streets, in shelters, or staying temporarily with family or friends,” she said.

Travis Credit Union branches are located at 5075 Business Center Drive, Fairfield; 1340 Gateway Blvd., Fairfield; 131 Sunset Ave., Suite A-1, Suisun City; 2570 N. Texas St., Fairfield; 659 Skymaster Drive, Travis Air Force Base; 2010 Peabody Road, Vacaville; 11 Cernon St., Vacaville; One Travis Way, Vacaville; 2020 Harbison Drive, Vacaville; 1450 Ary Lane, Suite C, Dixon; 1796 Tuolumne St., Vallejo; and 836-C Southampton Road, Benicia.
