County schedules turf farm permit hearing

By From page A10 | April 14, 2014

FAIRFIELD — Warren’s Turf Group is asking the county to extend its permit to operate a turf nursery at 3773 Chadbourne Road near Fairfield.

The county zoning administrator is to conduct a hearing at 10 a.m. Thursday. The hearing will take place in the Office of Resource Management at the county Government Center, 675 Texas St. in Fairfield.

The Chadbourne Road site has long been used for a wholesale nursery and farm labor quarters. The Solano County Planning Commission granted the initial permit on Feb. 3, 1977, and permitted a greenhouse on Jan. 3, 1980.

A county report recommends that a five-year permit extension be granted.
