Changes at Solano First Federal Credit Union

FAIRFIELD — Russell Hatch is retiring after 30 years of being CEO for Solano First Federal Credit Union.

Hatch plans to play more golf and retire to Georgia. He has spent almost 40 years in the credit union industry, a company press release said.

Michael Warrell is joining the credit union as its new chief executive officer. Warrell has worked in the financial industry for more than 18 years, most recently serving as the chief operating officer/senior vice president of member service at Smart Financial Credit Union in Houston.

“It will be our collective goal to continue to establish Solano First to be the first choice for Solano residents when they need any financial service,” Warrell said in the press release. “I am excited to start this new chapter in my life and look forward to meeting the wonderful people in the Solano County area.”

Solano First Federal Credit Union, or CMT as it was known prior to changing its name in 2005, has been in business since 1956. Its headquarters are in Fairfield.
