Buzz Oates project gets another tenant

By From page B8 | January 27, 2014

FAIRFIELD — Saxco International LLC has signed a lease for a 473,000-square-foot warehouse to be constructed on Cordelia Road.

This site is the Solano Logistics Center being constructed by development firm Buzz Oates of Sacramento. Fairfield in 2012 sold 43 acres at 2925 Cordelia Road to Buzz Oates for $4.5 million. Buzz Oates last year broke ground on the project and announced that Encore! Glass wine bottle supplier would lease a 318,000-square-foot building.

Construction is just about finished on the Encore! Glass building. Now comes the Saxco International announcement.

Saxco International provides packaging for wine, beer, liquor and food industries. Colliers International’s Fairfield office said the company has signed a lease for the planned 473,000-square-foot building.

That would finish up the Solano Logistics Center as originally planned. But the center is growing.

Fairfield Economic Development Specialist Charles Ching said Buzz Oates purchased another 9.3 acres from a private party. This land is adjacent to the 43 acres it bought from Fairfield.

That will allow Buzz Oates to build another 177,000-square-foot warehouse that Saxco International could also lease.

Buzz Oates could begin construction on the Saxco buildings within a few months, a Fairfield press release said.

Officials with Saxco International could not be reached for comment.
