FAIRFIELD — ACI Cork USA is offering a new product for premium and luxury wines.

It is distributing Relvas tin capsules for the tops of wine bottles. The capsules from Portugal are finished in water-based inks and can be customized, with the wine producer’s name embossed on them.

“It enhances the packaging,” ACI Cork USA General Manager Armando Andrade said.

The tin capsules are recyclable, nontoxic and resistant to corrosion, an ACI Cork USA press release said. ACI Cork USA is the sole North America representative for Relvas tin capsules.

“This is one more product we offer to help our customers be successful in the wine market,” Andrade said.

ACI Cork USA provides cork and noncork closures for producers of wine, vinegar, oils and other products. It creates products to customer specifications at its 30,000-square-foot plant on Cordelia Road in Fairfield.
