4 nights of paving on Highway 12

By From page A11 | April 13, 2014

FAIRFIELD – The California Department of Transportation will perform four consecutive nights of paving work on Highway 12 between Walters Road in Suisun City and Highway 113 starting at 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Crews will repair and repave the roadway which has deteriorated over time.

The work is scheduled to be completed by 5 a.m. Thursday. Work will start each day at 8 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and conclude at 5 a.m. the following mornings. All work is weather permitting.

To ensure public and worker safety, one-way traffic controls will be in effect on Highway 12 between Walters Road and Highway 113. The work will be done on westbound Highway 12. However, crews will alternate lane closures in both westbound and eastbound directions. This will allow one lane on the highway to remain open during the work.

The speed limit on Highway 12 should be 65 MPH. It should be a t least a four lane superhighway lighted with center dividers. Nice to see a CHP unit out there Friday morning, The ONE time there isn’t somebody flying by me giving me the business. Damn!

You have things in the wrong order. FIRST, our state should have enough money to make HWY 12 a "four lane superhighway with lighted center dividers". SECOND, thank you to the CHP for their service! THIRD, call 511 before you leave. FOURTH, leave early enough, set your cruise control & LIGHTEN THE HELL UP! If you've lived here long enough, get a clue. FIFTH, you live in California, give up my FIRST wish cuz it just ain't gonna happen.

Lisa, I DO use my cruise, I'm never late. I don't expect my solid suggestions to happen but it is a wish list okay? There were no CHP out there today unfortunately, and the racers blew by me taking full advantage!
