Ellen Anderson enjoys science, people at Hearing Services
VACAVILLE — Ellen Anderson can help people hear things they’ve never heard before. For many of her patients, it’s an amazing experience.
Anderson’s company, Ellen Anderson M.A. Hearing Services, helps patients reverse their hearing loss.
“It’s very gratifying . . . when somebody realized they’re hearing something new,” she said.
Anderson assists her patients through two steps: The first is through diagnostic audiology, testing and diagnosing her patients with what’s wrong, if anything. The next step is making a recommendation for hearing aids or devices to improve hearing.
Ellen Anderson M.A. Hearing Services, which has expanded to have offices in Fairfield, Vacaville, Rio Vista and Vallejo, is affiliated with the Audigy Group, which is comprised of top-flight private practices across the nation.
The company offers an array of hearing aids for lifestyles ranging from “very quiet” to “active” and styles that include behind-the-ear and in-the-ear, among others. It also offers assisted listening devices that improve telephone and television usage for people with impaired hearing.
Anderson’s passion for her profession stems from an early age. Her mother lost hearing in one ear after having mastoid surgery when Anderson was 2. This loss affected her mother’s balance and hearing.
Working at Hearing Services works beautifully for Anderson because not only does she get to work in science, but she gets to work with a lot of people and help a lot of lives.
“It satisfied my curiosity and my desires,” she said.
Ellen Anderson M.A. Hearing Services is located at 673 Merchant St., Suite B, Vacaville. It is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday by appointment only.
Hearing Services of Fairfield is located at 1287 Oliver Road; Hearing Services of Rio Vista is at 6 N. 5th St. and Hearing Services of Vallejo is at 480 Redwood St.
