A California Highway Patrol officer investigates a single-vehilce crash on eastbound I-80, west of American Canyon Road, Monday morning. The car hit the center divide at about 10 a.m. in the hills leading out of Vallejo, went across all four lanes and ended up against a chain-link fence in the brush near the freeway’s shoulder. A passerby stopped and helped the driver out of the Nissan Maxima. The driver was conscious and complained of pain and a swollen eye, according to the California Highway Patrol.
