Have you made a purchase recently that you now realize comes with hidden expenses? Perhaps you’re experiencing buyer’s remorse or realizing for the first time the gigantic commitment involved. Whether the cost is emotional, energetic or financial, there’s a chance to make a better deal now while the Libra moon favors negotiations.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). You have a worldview that others want to hear. Maybe yours isn’t exactly a pleasant message, and it might even be snarky or challenging in tone. But it’s true, and that’s what draws people in.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Some days you can force yourself to do work that you don’t want to do, but not today. You won’t be able to put your efforts into anything you don’t value, so hold out for the truly interesting opportunities.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You’ll review the past weeks and compare them with your plans and expectations for that period of time. Your reflecting on why things did or didn’t happen will produce an “aha!” moment.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). You don’t mean to take on huge challenges. You’ll have an idea that seems fun, so you’ll pursue it. Then you’ll realize that it’s more than an idea; it’s a way of life.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Though you were born smart, it takes effort to grow your mind and know your interests deeply. You’ll love the hours you dedicate to keeping up with the current ideas and information related to your interests.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). With so much unsolicited advice floating around, the exchange of advice between someone who really knows and someone who really asked for it will be a refreshing occurrence.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). You try to surround yourself with the best, but this is hard to do when you have but a limited understanding of your options. Get out and explore. And tell people what you’d like to find.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). You have your priorities straight, and your life reflects it. No matter how busy you are, you make time to bond with the important people in your life — probably in the playful moments between events.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). It may work against you to strive for the big win right now. Instead, go for the small wins. A pattern of small wins will have a great influence in the long term.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). With so much that needs to be accomplished now, you may see no point in ponderous philosophizing. And yet, you’ll find yourself thinking deeply into your situation, looking for a more profound meaning.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Paradoxically, spontaneous fun happens because you had the foresight to make arrangements for or create an environment conducive to laughter and good times.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Your obstacle may seem to be a guarded and active force intent on keeping you from your goal. Luckily, there’s a chink in the armor of this opposition. Find it, and you can still win the game.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY. It’s not that you want people to fight for your attention, but there is only one you, and there are many who want your love this year. The next three weeks offer a chance for advancement at work. Play your cards shrewdly. A December project shows off your talent. New friends and locations brighten 2013. Sagittarius and Aquarius people adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 5, 25, 49, 1 and 18.

FORECAST FOR THE WEEK AHEAD: This week’s attention to love is a keystone focus that affects every other aspect of life. Monday’s new moon in Libra, the sign of partnership, presents the opportunity to honor and renew your relationships. The energy of Libra is associated with close ties, especially romantic. And yet there are some professional, familial and platonic relationships that are as emotionally intimate as any romantic relationship, if not more so. All such bonds become an even higher priority as the sun and the moon align in Libra, and we are reminded that without each other we cannot really know ourselves.

On Monday evening, the sentiment deepens and extends to other realms as the moon progresses into Scorpio, joining Mercury, the messenger, and Saturn, the teacher. The transformative Scorpio energy has a way of including all who’ve passed through this earthly realm before us. The Native American poet Linda Hogan expresses the theme beautifully: “Walking, I am listening to a deeper way. Suddenly, all my ancestors are behind me. Be still, they say. Watch and listen. You are the result of the love of thousands.”

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Lovely Libran actress Mia Wasikowska is versed in playing literary characters. The star of “Jane Eyre” and “Alice in Wonderland” was recently cast in the role of Madame Bovary in a movie of the same name. Wasikowska was born when the sun, Mercury and Mars were all in the intellectual air sign of Libra. Her natal moon in Aries and Venus in Sagittarius lends a fiery passion to the picture.
