Only if Fairfield gets rid of retirement medical benefits for their high 6 figure salary employees!
Anyone making over $100,000 annually can afford their own medical insurance!
If I don’t hear the Fairfield City Council take action on this subject before a November vote..then don’t even bother putting it on the ballot!
Yes, provided the funds are earmarked and ONLY spent to maintain police and fire services.
What a dumb question.

First, I would never support an increase in tax that would be earmark for police or firefighters because they are not responsible with funds already given to them. I agree with the post above who stated only supporting increase in tax if government figures making greater than $100000 gives up their benefits. When times get tough you sacrifice and you work harder, you don’t place that responsibility to others.
Not a chance. They can’t spend responsibly as it is. I don’t want to give them more money when they could make intelligent cuts and save money. And when a tax is increased is it rarely if ever decreased. Learn what we have all learned to do with less cut expenses and spend less.
Yes, but only if it is used for police, fire, and roads. The rest of the city services can be cut I never use them anyway.
Do you use water out of the tap? Do you like your toilets to flush? Do you like the traffic signals to work? What about street lights? Do you like the local creeks to flow so we don’t have floods? What about downed trees in the streets? Do want the tree crew to remove them?
Yes, if only , as one comments earlier, use the money to improve peace and order for our city of Fairfield.
NO! NO! NO! They won’t spend it where it should be spent. Period. Give them the proverbial inch and before you know it they will take the mile. Give me one day looking over the books and I will solve any financial problems they might have, no strain or no pain. No more taxes, period.
In another article, there is mention of a train station that is being built for $54 million dollars. If we have that kind of money for a train station that is not needed, we don’t need a sales tax increase.
Absolutely agree.
The problem is, Lil, the nuts in charge of this fiasco will answer that it will be funded by grants or subsidies or some other form of “free” money but they will not admit that the State or Feds, or whoever is “giving” the money has to take that money away from us first. The inmates are now in charge of the asylum.
Do you know if this project is approved already or if voters will get to decide if this project gets the green light?
