FAIRFIELD — Double crossed, double trouble and a drug kingpin are featured in the three movies opening nationwide Friday.

The horror flick “Mama,” rated PG-13, tells the tale of two girls who vanish in the woods after their parents die. They are found five years later and their uncle and his girlfriend take them in. However, they didn’t come alone.

Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as a sheriff who says goodbye to Los Angeles and moves to a sleepy border town in “The Last Stand.” Then, a drug kingpin, on his escape to the Mexican border, passes through the small town. Forest Whitaker and Johnny Knoxville also star. The movie is rated R.

Opening in limited release is “LUV,” rated R. It centers on an 11-year-old boy who gets a crash course on what it means to be a man while spending the day with an uncle he idolizes. Common, Danny Glover and Charles S. Dutton star.
