FAIRFIELD — The classic story of a young girl’s dream comes to life in Benicia Ballet Theatre’s production of “The Nutcracker” at the Solano Community College Theatre, 4000 Suisun Valley Road.
The show includes a 50-piece orchestra and guest artists Steve Waranietz, Evan Johnston and Grateful Siren Belly Dance Co. Performances also feature a choir.
“We are bringing together over 200 performers from all over Solano County and giving the community a quality, artistic performance that is conveniently located,” said Margaret Kenrick, Benicia Ballet Theatre artistic director, in a press release. “The partnership with the college music department and theatre in addition to the local choirs joining us this year will make for a very special celebration of this historical piece of art.”
The event is in its 22nd year.
Performances are 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
