Perhaps the sensationalist news media needs to hang out on a C-5 aircraft for a couple of weeks to keep things in perspective. The 777 and the A380 both had structural cracks on wings. Fuel leaks are common on most large aircraft with integral tanks in the wings or tail. The APU battery problem doesn’t sound that hard to correct and a service bulletin or AD should be quickly forthcoming.
